Happy Friday!

Today, the students and I discussed missing work assignments and many were given the opportunity to work on missing assignments during class. We'll keep working on time management and personal responsibility (taking ownership of one's own learning) throughout the year, but parents can help by checking the class web page's homework assignments nightly and asking to see your child's work and also by checking PowerSchool to remind your child they may still have some classwork to turn in! Parents, thank you for your efforts in supporting the classroom. It takes a village more than ever during this pandemic! I truly appreciate all of your support!

Students, overall you are doing an incredible job during this challenging time! Keep up the great work! Remember to email me when you've completed missing or late assignments. Also remember that all late IXL assignments (JJ.1 for last week) must be a 100% score to get credit. Regular IXL assignments are still 80%/20 minutes or 100%, whichever comes first. Also, for those students who need it, I've attached a copy of the Plot Poster, so you can complete yours if it's not done! :)

Have a restful weekend, students and parents, and enjoy being off the screen!

🚌  Students and Parents! 🚌

The first day of 6th grade was a whirlwind! The students were beyond terrific, arriving on time, dressed for success, and asking great questions! I'm very impressed already!
😍
Today, we discussed the supplies list, and I'd love parents to review the handout entitled  "Home Learning Space and Supplies List" with their child. I'm hoping most supplies can be in hand by Monday (8/17). Please email me if you have a question about an item on the list [email protected].

This Friday is the 6th grade Picture Day and textbook retrieval. I will also be on campus handing out project folders to my students! I can't wait to meet the students in person -- even behind our masks! See the school web page www.hehms.us for more information about Friday's schedule. The students are grouped to arrive on campus by homeroom teacher. So, if they have me for Periods 1 & 2, they are to arrive at 3:10 p.m. If they have me for Periods 3 & 4, they arrive by their homeroom teacher's (math teacher's) listed time.
