About Us

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Huntington Middle School! We are thrilled to have you back on campus and ready to embark on another exciting journey of learning and growth. While I have already had the privilege of meeting and interacting with many of you in my former role as Assistant Principal, I am honored and humbled to lead this exceptional community of learners as Principal. I would also like to introduce you to Mrs. Michelle Cota, our new Assistant Principal, whom many of you know from her years serving as an English teacher at San Marino High School. Mrs. Cota and I are committed to continuing and furthering Huntington’s rich tradition of academic and extracurricular excellence.
This year, in addition to continuing to implement the 4C’s, which are critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration, and celebrating excellence in the 4A’s, academics, athletics, arts, and activities, we continue to prioritize helping students develop their character traits and citizenship qualities of responsibility, respect, trustworthiness, honesty, self-discipline, integrity, courage, and perseverance. Our PE shirts reflect these traits, classroom and office conversations revolve around these traits, and we continue to celebrate students who exemplify these traits monthly at our Good Citizenship Breakfasts.  We will again provide our students with the many popular lunchtime Hangouts and the Zen Zone allowing various atmospheres for students to share passions, interests and decompress.  Our PTA has planned many exciting events, under the leadership of PTA President Lauren Shen such as Noontime Fun activities, dances, Hauntington Breakfast, and Fox Games.  Our Athletic and Academic coaches are ready to win those titles and trophies and provide team experiences that will serve our students throughout their lives.  We will also continue to build upon our skills in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Restorative Practices. Our classroom teachers at Huntington are highly qualified veterans who pride themselves on building lessons and learning experiences that inform and inspire our students.
Huntington is fortunate to have the most supportive community and devoted families that share a unity of purpose in creating exceptional learning environments and experiences for all of our students.  We are grateful for the San Marino Schools Foundation, the Huntington PTA, the SMUSD District Office, and the outstanding caliber of volunteerism and generosity that support our students’ amazing academic, athletic, artistic, and social activity outcomes.
On behalf of all teachers and staff at Huntington Middle School, I extend my best wishes for a fantastic start to the 2023-2024 school year. Let's Go Foxes!
