Posting for Monday, August 18
Students, please remember to charge your Chromebook every night. Also, if your have not already,
please put a label on your Chromebook with your first and last name.
They all look the same and yours can easily be picked up by another student on accident.
You can use a sticky note or a removable sticker or piece of tape.
This will be your Chromebook until you turn it in at the end of 8th grade.
Some of my past students have purchased a padded sleeve/cover to carry it from home to school.
Looking on Amazon, there are many options that can be purchased for around $10 - $12.
Also, please remember not to place heavy items on top of your Chromebook to avoid damaging the circuit board and/or screen.
Thank you so much for taking care of this valuable school resource!
ðŸ’ŧ

Many thanks to those families who have already provided kleenex and/or disinfectant wipes for our classroom.
We appreciate your donations very much!
Going forward, we mainly need kleenex/facial tissues to add to our supply.

Happy First Day of School! ðŸĶŠ

Welcome to HMS!  What a great start we've had!  Although you were an attentive listener, you may feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of information given to you today.  Teachers will review procedures multiple times over the coming weeks to ensure clarity and understanding.  I encourage you to ask questions and seek help when needed.  My goal is for students to feel safe and comfortable in their new learning environment.  I am confident this will be a rewarding, productive, and successful year for all!

Today, we reviewed school supplies and what materials you will need for class each day.  Students have a green handout with additional information, also posted below, for your reference. As a reminder, please bring the following every day:

1. green or blue folder (the one with your name on the cover) with current handouts
2.  Binder Reminder
3.  pencil bag/box with supplies (please have all supplies by next Monday, August 18th)
4.  school-issued Chromebook (you will receive yours soon!)
5.  water bottle (optional)

Please leave other items in your locker or at home.  Starting on Monday, backpacks will not be allowed in the classroom per school policy.  However, students have the option to bring a small drawstring sport/gym bag to the classroom.

Also, many thanks to those families who provided kleenex and disinfectant wipes for our classroom! We appreciate your donations very much! :)
