all students in grades six through eight except those taking the California modified assessment called CMA we're taking the California set performance assessment called Kappa are required to take the California standards test or CST English language arts or Ela in math are administered at all the middle school grades and students in grade 8 also take Science and History social science tests grade 7 must Mark which math test they took grade 7 math or Algebra 1 students also need to Mark the version of the math booklet they used if one of these circles is not marked the test will be scored for grade 7 math  students in grade 8 are required to take a math test but they will not all take the same test you'll see separate booklets for each math subjects such as algebra and geometry Etc work with your school's star coordinator to ensure that each student is given the correct math test make sure students Mark which math test they took or it will not be scored  students also need to Mark the version of the math booklet they used after testing make sure that the answer documents are go to show any applicable accommodations modifications variations and special conditions crdf a for explanations of how to code these sections other procedures discussed in a general information video segments and in directions for administration
