Description

Think Different

Here's to the crazy ones.
  The misfits.
    The rebels.
      The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

Because they change things.

They invent.    They imagine.    They heal.
They explore.    They create.    They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.

While some see them as the crazy ones,
   we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world...

Are the ones who do.

Assignment

Final - 200 Points

The end is near. For some of you, this class was a breeze. For most of you, this class has taught you how to be self-reliant (To think for yourself). And for the few... someday you'll get it.

While, this has been the most challenging semester to date, I'm sorry to have it end as you're finally starting to get it. As with every class, once you have gone through a semester of my crazy deadlines, you'll always be my student. Which means that I'll help you with any projects you get in the future. Did you ever notice how many students come in from other classes? Same goes for you, if you need help with something, come on by.

Anyway, one last chance to show how much you've grown as a student - Here is the final...

Complete the following tasks
  • Create a new page on your Google Site called Natural vs. Artificial
  • On this new page, include the following...
    • List three examples of each type of light source.
      • Natural (Hint, Hint - Did you night snorkel in Catalina?)
      • Artificial (Hint, Hint - Do you remember photography?)
    • Write the following information...
      • Hypothesis - for Natural Light vs. Artificial Light
  • Complete the following experiment...
    • Run your solar car on the tennis courts for 18 feet (Base line to Service line). Time and record how long it takes using direct sunlight.
    • Run your solar car in front of the gym in the shade for 5 feet. Time and record how long it takes using reflective sunlight.
    • Run your solar car in the room for 9 feet (The course) using only room light. Time and record how long it takes using normal room light.
    • Run your solar car in the room for 9 feet (The course) using a high-energy spot light. Time and record how long it takes using the high-energy light.
  • Add your data from the four experiments you just did to your Natural vs. Artificial Light page.
    • Include the following info for each...
      • Where | Type of Light Source | Distance Traveled | Time | Velocity
        • V=D÷T (Velocity = Distance ÷ Time)
        • Ex. V = 18 Feet ÷ 34 Seconds  (V = .53 feet per second)
  • Add a photo of your car to the Artificial vs. Natural page
  • Write a conclusion/final statement on the Artificial vs. Natural page based on the findings from your experiments.
  • Inform Mr. G that your Google Website is finished
  • The whole site is 200 Points, so I hope that you have included important information such as Alessandro Volta in the history portion
  • Congratulations, you are now finished
  • You may now work on, or turn-in, old projects
  • If you're finished, please do not disturb other groups as they need to finish
We will have an extra credit race after school. 25 Points to the winners. It should take no longer than 5 minutes.

    • It better be good. Two people have tried turning it in so far and they were not even close to being accepted. Have pride in your work.

Did you know that you could turn in your old projects on 20% days? You did know? Then why do I still get the question, "When can I turn in my projects?".

Did you know that all directions are given to you orally in Room 403a, and are then written step-by-step on the class webpage? You did know? Then why do I still get the questions like, "What do I name it?", "How do I share it?", and the ever so clever, "What am I supposed to do?".

Did you know that you're supposed to bring your headphones and flash drive everyday to class? You did know? Then why do I still get comments like, "I left my flash drive at home.", "I don't have headphones", or my personal favorite, "Were we supposed to have a flash drive?".
