Homework Post

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to HMS!  What a great start we've had!  Although students were attentive listeners, your child may come home feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information given to him/her today.  Please reassure your student that teachers will review procedures repeatedly over the next few weeks.  Encourage them to ask questions and seek help when needed.  My goal is for all students to feel safe and comfortable in their new learning environment.  I am already impressed with this group of 6th graders, and I know it will be a rewarding, positive, and successful year for all!

The most common question from students today was, "What do I bring to class?"  Students, each and every day, please bring the following:

1.  white "English and Social Studies" binder (given to you today in class)
2.  Chromebook (fully charged)
3.  earbuds or headphones
4.  Binder Reminder (given to you today in Homeroom)
5.  pencil bag/box with supplies

Please leave other items in your locker or at home.  Starting on Monday, backpacks will not be allowed in the classroom per school policy.  However, students have the option to bring a small drawstring sport/gym bag to the classroom.
